Red meat, healthy diet and the environment - Everything is connected

For both a healthy planet and our personal health cutting red meat and excessive sugar consumption may be necessary.

Red meat production creates an enormous amount of methane gas which is more damaging than CO2 to our environment. Excessive red meat consumption is also damaging to our bodies. It is associated with a shorter life span and increases in diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disease. Excess sugar is associated with weight gain and diseases such as diabetes.

It is quite shocking how our simple daily habits can be so destructive to things that we hold important, namely our health and the surroundings in which we live. Why not take better care of your health, reduce your red meat consumption and help the environment? You may just live a longer and healthier and for an added benefit, changing your daily diet may just save our planet.

While this news has been published previously, why are we so slow to change? As individuals and as a group, we have the power to make a change. Our actions can make a positive difference in our health and to our environment.
